Panettoni

Panettone is the traditional Italian cake served at Christmas and New Year, although there is nothing to stop you from eating it year round. It originated in Lombardy and usually takes the form of a church cupola. The original panettone was made with fine flour, eggs and candied fruits, but a more recent trend is to add other ingredients such as chocolate along with other fillings.
